Twitter and Facebook - QuitYerBitchin

As reported by the Associated Press: When Google changed the rankings of its search results this month, items from its Google+ social network -- such as photos, videos, comments and links -- got a boost at the expense of other social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook. Twitter wasn't happy about the changes, which Google called Search Plus Your World, and made its dissatisfaction known. Privacy groups called on the Federal Trade Commission to investigate the changes.

You know what Twitter? And Facebook? Get your own damn search engine! Google is not beholden to anyone but Google. The Federal Trade Commission may not agree with that but that's how far down the wrong tracks this country has gone. Google gets to write it's own algorithms and promote it's own brands. Coke doesn't have to give Pepsi equal time. I'm sick of the namby pamby fat cats crying foul! I was disgusted when our country's leadership challenged Microsoft's inclusion of Internet Explorer with the operating system. The day Senator Hatch mocked the profits of Microsoft as being too exhorbitant was a sad, sad day. Fast forward to today and Google's browser IS an operating system. Good for them.

Google can screw this up for sure. When Joe Browser is looking for information and discovers that Google is presenting results that are biased toward self-promotion, Joe Browser will head on over to Bing or go directly to the platforms where he thinks he'll get better information. Search is migrating from who-links to who-likes. In that regard, Facebook may be sitting on the who-likes monopoly. So Facebook and Twitter - quityerbitchin and get on with the work of making a better search engine. Leave the Federal Trade Commission out of it please or we may end up with all search regulated. You want to see biased search? Wait 'till big brother gets to present the results!
